Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using uSWAP ("the platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. uSWAP is currently in beta and these terms may evolve as the platform matures.

2. Eligibility

uSWAP is for verified college students only. You must sign up with a valid .edu email address and be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). One account per person.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use uSWAP only for legitimate, non-commercial skill exchange between students. You will not:

• •Engage in ghostwriting, cheating, or any activity that violates academic integrity
• •Offer or accept commercial or paid services through the platform
• •Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse other users
• •Impersonate another person or misrepresent your skills
• •Attempt to scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform
• •Use uSWAP for anything illegal under your local, state, or federal law

4. Account suspension and termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that abuses the platform, violates these terms, or harms the community — at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Swap points have no cash value and are forfeited on termination.

5. Swap points

Swap points are an internal credit used only within uSWAP. They are not currency, have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred outside the platform. We may adjust point balances to correct errors, fraud, or abuse.

6. User content

You retain ownership of the content you post (profiles, listings, messages). By posting, you grant uSWAP a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content as needed to operate the platform. You are responsible for the content you share and for honoring your swap commitments.

7. Intellectual property

The uSWAP name, logo, design, source code, and all related materials are the proprietary property of uSWAP and its creators. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

uSWAP is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted skills, the quality of swaps, or uninterrupted availability of the platform. Swaps happen directly between students — uSWAP is not a party to those interactions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, uSWAP and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including disputes between students or losses related to swap arrangements.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
